Communications is the hub of the entire emergency services. They are the first contact in time of emergency. The center is manned 24 hours a day 7 days a week. All communication operators have received certification by the Association of Public Safety Officials- International (APCO), met standards for telecommunicators in the State of Missouri, and are certified by the Missouri Uniform Law Enforcement System (MULES). The center receives calls from 9-1-1 and 7 digit phone lines. Calls are entered into a (CAD) Computer Aided Dispatch System and sent to the dispatch, including Police, Fire, Emergency Management, and after hours calls for Park and Recreation, and Public Works.
