City Clerk
Brenda Jackson

 

The City Clerk's duties are to provide clerical staff support to the Mayor and the City Council, as well as, issue licenses for the following: business, liquor, solicitors and pet licenses. The City Clerk also provides such services as being a repository for all official city records, recording official minutes, ordinances, resolutions, and proclamations from the City Council meetings, coordinating elections with the Greene County Clerk and maintaining the city codebook.

Brenda Jackson was elected as the City Clerk in November, 2005. Prior to this Brenda was employed for over 12 years with the City of Springfield. Her responsibilities there included records management and administrative support. Brenda worked in both the Police and Planning/Zoning Departments. This provided the foundation needed to fill the responsibilities of the Republic City Clerk.

 

Brenda's goals for the City Clerk's Office include: making it accessible and convenient for citizens to acquire their respective permits, providing information to the citizens of Republic concerning the records of the City and working to maintain all the records in an organized and safe manner.

 

Brenda is married and has one son who is in college. Her hobbies include working in the children's ministry at the First Baptist Church , attending Bluegrass singings with her husband, sewing, baking and taking care of her family.
