Fire Department Divisions

Fire Inspection
The fire department has one inspector that performs inspections at area businesses and the pubilc schools throughout the year.

Fire and Medical Training
The fire department has two personnel that schedule in-house training for the department. The department has seven personnel that are qualified instructors of this training.

Vehicle Maintenance
The fire department has one employee that is responsible for scheduling the trucks for maintenance. The department completes most of the maintenance of the vehicles in-house.

 

Medical Team
The fire department requires that all personnel be first responder qualified within six months of coming into the department.

Fire Hydrant Flow Testing
The fire department conducts flow tests of the hydrants in the city each year.

Fire Hydrant Maintenance
The fire department performs maintenance on needed hydrants as well as paints them once every two years
.

Cadet Firefighter Program
The fire department has one employee that oversees the fire cadets. The program is set up for teenagers ages 14 - 18. The program is set up to train the cadets to be firefighters once they reach the age of 18 and are out of school. The cadets spend time at the station doing work with the on-duty personnel and assist the fire department personnel on calls.
