The Republic Parks & Recreation Department will offer a free story time from 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. at the Republic Community Center the 2nd and 4th Friday of every month (see dates below) excluding June, July, August. This is a free program for toddler's age 0-5. No registration is necessary; parent/guardian is required to stay.

The Republic Parks & Recreation Department will offer new sessions of Toddler Tumbling beginning in January 2012. Classes are open to ages 2-5 and meet on Thursday evenings. Two different class times are available, 5:30-6:15PM or 6:45-7:30PM. Tumbling, movement, balance and flexibility will be covered in each session. Music and props will be incorporated into the class. One parent will be required to participate in the class with their toddler. There will be a maximum of eight toddlers per class. All classes will be held at the Republic Community Center. Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program
The Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program is designed for individuals with arthritis, rheumatic diseases, or related musculoskeletal conditions who are limited by impaired joint motion and/or strength and who are currently sedentary. All ages are welcome to attend. Class sessions are FREE and will run for eight weeks.

Senior Movies
Senior movies are held at the Republic Community Center on the last Thursday of every month at 2:00PM (see dates below), excluding the summer months (May, June, July, and August). The movies are free and no registration is necessary. Free coffee and popcorn are also provided.

Senior Coffee Break
Senior Coffee Break is a NEW program for senior citizens. This program is designed to bring seniors together for coffee, light snack, and fellowship all while gaining information on a topic that is important to you. We will be bringing in a guest speaker from various local businesses to each coffee break to talk about their business or organization and also offer an open discussion for any questions or concerns. Possible topics will include banking, chiropractic medicine, home health care, insurance, investments, travel and much more.

Parents: are you looking for a night out on your own without the kids? We've got the solution! Bring your children out to the Republic Community Center and our staff will entertain them with age-appropriate games and equipment, movies, and crafts from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM while you spend the evening out on the town. All children between the ages of 4-12 are welcome to attend! The cost is $10.00 for the first child and $5.00 for each additional child, and we'll even provide the dinner and a snack! Pre-registration is required and payment is due at time of registration. There will be a minimum of 10 children registered on a given date to run this program.

 Cheer Republic is open to all girls in 3rd – 6th grade and will begin in early September for football and early January for basketball. Participants will have the opportunity to cheer at Republic Mighty Mite football games, Republic Parks and Recreation boy’s basketball games, and the Republic Christmas Parade. Practices will be held once a week throughout the season. This program is a great preparation for future cheerleading opportunities. Registration must be done in person at the Republic Community Center; payment is due at the time of registration.
Registration for Session 1 (football) and Session 2 (basketball) of Cheer Republic will begin on June 4, 2012.
Registration deadline for Session 1 of Cheer Republic is Friday, July 20, 2012.

Toddler Open Gym is a great chance for parents and their young children to interact and play with others in the community. Age appropriate gym equipment will be set up in the Activities Building gymnasium. Toddler Open Gym is only offered on Mondays when Republic Schools are in session. No registration is required for this program.

 Summer Recreation Day Camp is a day camp for youth ages 6 (or have completed kindergarten) -12. The camp runs Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. during the summer months. Campers participate in a wide variety of activities including gym games, board games, gymnastics, crafts, swimming, field trips, and frequent trips to the Republic Aquatic Center.
Registration:
Early Bird Registration for Summer Recreation Day Camp will begin Monday, March 5th, 2012, at 8:00 a.m. and must be done in person at the Republic Community Center, 711 East Miller Road. At least one week of camp must be paid for at the time of registration.
Costs:
$80.00 per week full time, $70.00 for each additional child in family
$40.00 per week summer school, $35.00 for each additional child in family during summer school (only if child attends summer school)
Entire summer fees are to be determined pending the release of the Republic School Districts 2012/2013 calendar.
