The annual Republic Parks and Recreation Easter Egg Hunt will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. The event will be held at J.R. Martin Park (300 E. Hines). Children will be divided into four different age groups to look for approximately 8,000 candy and toy filled eggs. The Easter Bunny will arrive at J.R. Martin Park after the hunt is finished. No registration is necessary for this event. Don’t forget your Easter basket!

 The Annual May Day 5K & Fun Run/Walk, hosted by Republic Parks and Recreation and CoxHealth Fitness Centers, is held on the first Saturday in May annually.
All registered 5K participants will receive an official May Day 5K T-Shirt; all Fun Run/Walk participants will receive a ribbon upon completion of the 1 Mile run/walk. The top two males and females in each age category receive prizes along with the top overall male and top overall female.

The City of Republic will host the 14th Annual Have-A-Blast patriotic celebration on Friday, June 25th, 2010, at J.R. Martin Park (300 E. Hines). The Have-A-Blast celebration will begin at approximately 6:00 p.m. and is a fun-filled evening featuring great live music, mouth-watering food, children's games, inflatables, family entertainment and socializing culminating with a spectacular fireworks show at dusk.

The Concert in the Park is held at J.R. Martin Park (300 E. Hines) and is a chance to have a relaxing evening in the park, listening to live music, and spending time with family and friends in the community.

The Republic Parks and Recreation Department and the Republic Area Chamber of Commerce invites you to come enjoy America's greatest pastime as part of the 2010 Republic Night at the Springfield Cardinals event! Come join your fellow members of the Republic community to show off your Republic pride and watch a great game of baseball. Event registration includes an official ‘Republic Night at the Springfield Cardinals' t-shirt to wear during the game.
Throw the first pitch at the game! Raffle tickets may be purchased during registration for $2.00 per ticket.
