Brian C. Buckner was elected to serve the citizens of Ward III in April 2005. Mr. Buckner moved to Republic in July 2000 with his wife Diane, daughter Nichole and son Ian.

Mr. Buckner is a 1990 graduate of Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas. He studied engineering and business. Mr. Buckner has a degree in Business Administration with a Human Resource emphasis from Kansas State University. He also has an Associate of Arts degree with engineering emphasis from Coffeyville College. Mr. Buckner was on an academic and golf scholarship while at Coffeyville College and won the Russell H. Graham Outstanding Graduate award.

Mr. Buckner is a Customer Category Manager for Kraft Foods sales and marketing division. His belief is that Republic is well on its way in becoming an economic, social, and political force in southwest Missouri. Mr. Buckner would like to assist in the continued growth of Republic by using his experience, sensibility, and knowledge .
