| Republic Police Department Releases Results of Click It or Ticket Enforcement Motorists Reminded to Buckle Up and Arrive Alive |

Republic, Missouri – The Republic Police Department participated in the national Click It or Ticket mobilization conducted May 24 – June 6. During the enforcement effort, officers issued a total of 189 traffic tickets including; 34 safety belt tickets; 82 speeding tickets; 1 driving while intoxicated; and 72 other traffic violations. Six warrant arrests were made as a result of the crackdown. "Seat belts are your single best defense in a crash," stated Chief Mark Lowe. "Law enforcement will continue to encourage drivers to make a simple, smart choice to Buckle Up and Arrive Alive." Funding for this effort was provided through a grant from the Missouri Department of Transportation's Highway Safety Division in cooperation with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Missouri Safety Center.
