REPUBLIC, MO – The Public Works Department has released work schedules for the upcoming reconstruction of certain street segments in Republic. The reconstruction of portions of Walnut, Rosewood and the intersection of Rosewood and Pinewood will begin on or about September 27th. Over the course of the projects, the existing pavement will be milled, pulverized and recycled to use as a base for a new asphalt driving surface.

The projects will require temporary traffic restrictions during the duration of the work. A work safety zone will be established and adjusted to protect specific activities as they occur; however, only local traffic accessing adjoining properties will be permitted within the work zone. Residents in the area should be prepared for recurring but limited driveway obstructions as construction equipment is working in the immediate vicinity. Drivers are advised to avoid the work area and to exercise caution when in the work zone. The schedule for the projects is subject to variation due to weather and contractor availability. Questions or comments may be directed to David Brock, Public Works Director, at 732-3400.
