Pedestrian and Traffic Tips & Safety

When it comes to walking or driving, there are many safety tips to keep in mind.
Still, the best overall advice for any kind of pedestrian and traffic safety - from avoiding an accident to avoiding a purse snatcher- is this: PAY ATTENTION! When people go on "automatic pilot", they don't see crosswalks; they don't look both ways for cars, and become an easier target for criminals. Staying alert and aware of your surroundings will go a long way to increase your safety and the safety of those around you.

Vacation Safety and Security

Going away on vacation? If you want to let us know your plans, we'll do what we can to help keep watch on your house while you are away. Keep in mind the following tips to help you stay safe during your travels.

When Away on Vacation

Travel with a friend or in a group when possible. There is safety in numbers.
Plan your touring. Don't discuss your plans with strangers. Beware of strangers who seem overly anxious to help you.
Do not past your vacation plans on web pages, etc.
Stick to well-lighted main streets and public areas.
Leave your itinerary with a friend or relative and check in with them periodically.
Shop with a friend when possible.

Vehicle Security

Although a professional car thief can defeat most security measures and quickly break into and steal a locked vehicle, most vehicle break-ins and thefts are carried out by amateurs who take advantage of the carelessness of drivers in leaving vehicles unlocked, valuables in sight, etc. The tips in this section will significantly enhance the security of your vehicles.

Preventing Theft or Break-ins
