Public Safety Sales Tax Proposition

On Tuesday, April 6th, members of Republic City Council voted unanimously in favor of Ordinance 21-12 placing a 3/4¢ public safety sales tax on the ballot in August. Revenue from the tax, if passed, would be used exclusively by the Republic Police & Fire Departments to provide funding for additional staffing, competitive pay adjustments, retirement benefit improvements, and to further meet the needs of these two growing departments
