Capital Improvements Sales Tax (Passed August 8, 2017)


The City of Republic would like to thank the citizens of our great city for passing the renewal of a ¼¢ capital improvements sales tax on August 8, 2017. The tax, designated for capital improvements across all departments, will go in to effect on October 1, 2017 replacing the current tax that was designated for stormwater only. Planned Improvements Include:

*  Sidewalk and Trail Additions

*  East Hines Street Improvements

*  New Animal Control Facility

*  City Gateway/Welcoming Signs

*  Storm Siren Additions

*  ADA Transition Plan Improvements

*  New Digital Radios for Emergency Services

*  Fleet Vehicles - Police Department, etc.

*  Downtown Revitalization

*  Stormwater Projects

Additional needs may be identified over the course of the proposed taxation period.

Tax Description:  ¼¢ General Capital Improvements Sales Tax 

Election Date:  August 8, 2017

Election Results:  Passed - 73% Approval

Effective Date:  October 1, 2017

Sunset Date:  September 30, 2027
