Tiger Tri

10th Anniversary Tiger Tri to be Held August 13

The Republic Parks & Recreation Department, in a cooperative effort with the Ozarks Multisport Club, will host the 10th Annual Republic Tiger Tri on August 13, 2016 beginning at 7:00 a.m. at Miller Park in Republic, MO. The 2016 Republic Tiger Tri is presented by Larson Law Firm.

This sprint style triathlon is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in competing in a triathlon for the first time, but challenging enough for even the most experienced triathletes. The triathlon features a 300 yard swim which is conducted in four to five feet of water at the Republic Aquatic Center, a 12.2 mile bike ride over rolling Ozark hills and a relatively flat 3.1 mile run course through residential portions of the city. A Super Sprint course is also available; each portion of the Super Sprint (swim, bike, and run) will be half the normal distance. Racers can also compete in the “Double”, racing both the Sprint and the Super Sprint beginning with the Super Sprint.

Awards are given to the top three males and females in each of the 14 age divisions offered. The top three finishers in the Clydesdales division (Males 200+ lbs), Athena division (Females 150+ lbs), and Team division (2 or 3 people) also receive awards. Special recognition and awards will also be presented to the top overall male and female winners of the Sprint and the Super Sprint races. In 2015, over 300 participants took part in the Republic Tiger Tri placing the event in the top five in the state of Missouri in terms of participation numbers for a triathlon.

Registration for the 2016 Tiger Tri may be completed online at www.ultramaxtri.com by 11:59 p.m. on August 11, 2016, or in person anytime at the Republic Community Center by 7:00 p.m. on August 12, 2016. For more information, visit the Tiger Tri website at www.republictigertri.com.
