Moore Park Dedication

Moore Park Dedication Ceremony Moved to Lyon Elementary

A dedication ceremony for Moore Park is scheduled for Friday, April 21 to honor Mrs. Connie Moore for whom the park has been named. Due to a rainy forecast, the ceremony will be held in the Lyon Elementary gymnasium located next to the park at 201 E. State Hwy 174. The ceremony will be held at 10:30 a.m. as originally planned.

Mrs. Moore taught for the Republic School District at Elementary-III, now known as Lyon Elementary. During her tenure, she envisioned and established the park at the corner of Highway 174 and Boston Lane. In the summer of 2016, the Republic School District donated the land to the City of Republic to be used as a new city park.
