Mud Run

got Mud? Youth Mud Run Scheduled for August 26

The City of Republic Parks & Recreation Department will host the 3rd Annual got Mud? Run on Saturday, August 26, 2017.  The mud run is open to youth ages 4-15.  The event will be held at Brookline Park located at 2696 E. Sawyer Road.

Youth can splash, splat, run, jump, climb and crawl their way through courses of varying length and obstacle difficulty. Details for each rush can be found below. Each rush will be capped at 150 participants.  
  • Mud Rush #1: 8:30 a.m. for 4-6 year olds. Length: 1 mile with 14 obstacles
  • Mud Rush #2: 9:30 a.m. for 7-10 year olds. Length: 1.5 miles with 17 obstacles
  • Mud Rush #3: 10:30 a.m. for 7-10 year olds. Length: 1.5 miles with 17 obstacles
  • Mud Rush #4: 11:30 a.m. for 11-15 year olds. Length:  2 miles with 21 obstacles
The registration fee is $35.00 per participant. Fees include a t-shirt for all participants and a custom dog tag medal at the finish line.  Registration can be done online at www.getmeregistered.com, in person at the Republic Community Center, or a registration form can be mailed to 711 E. Soccer

Fall Youth Soccer & Flag Football Registration Ends Friday

The Republic Parks & Recreation Department is taking individual and team registrations for Fall Youth Soccer through Friday, August 18.  This co-ed soccer league is open to children ages 3-12 (age on first day of season).  Age divisions are as follows:  3-4, 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, and 11-12 years.  The eight-game season begins on Thursday, September 7.  The league fee is $175.00 per team for the 3-4 year-old division and $275.00 per team for the 5-12 year-old divisions.  A $25.00 discount will be applied for resident teams.  Games are played on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Garoutte Field located at 210 E. Hines in Republic. 

The Republic Parks & Recreation Department is also offering Youth Flag Football for 1st–4th graders (current grade) beginning in September.  This league is designed to educate participants about football while emphasizing participation and sportsmanship.  Players learn skills and lessons that will help them succeed both on and off the field. 

Registration will be open through Friday, August 18.  Team and individual registration is available.  The six-game season begins the week of September 11; all games are played on Mondays at the Bervin White Memorial Baseball/Softball Complex.  The fee is $200.00 per team with resident teams receiving a $25.00 discount.

Republic Aquatic Center Remaining Days of Operation

The Republic Aquatic Center will be open on weekends only through Labor Day.  Be sure to plan your visit to the Republic Aquatic Center as we wrap up another great summer!  The remaining dates of operation are as follows:  

• Saturday, August 19: 12:00-7:00 p.m.
• Sunday, August 20: 12:00-6:00 p.m.
• Saturday, August 26: 12:00-7:00 p.m.
• Sunday, August 27: 12:00-6:00 p.m.
• Saturday, September 2: 12:00-7:00 p.m.
• Sunday, September 3: 12:00-6:00 p.m.
• Monday, September 4 (Labor Day): 12:00- 6:00 p.m.  

Toddler Open Gym Back in Session

The Republic Parks & Recreation Department offers a Toddler Open Gym program every Monday that Republic Schools are in session from 9:00-11:00 a.m. During Toddler Open Gym, your child will enjoy age-appropriate gym equipment and toys, making new friends, and jumping in our large inflatable tiger bounce for the last hour of the program! Toddler Open Gym is held at the Republic Community Center (Activities Building). The cost is $3.00 per toddler, per day. No registration is necessary; a parent/guardian is required to stay with their child. This program will not be held when Republic Schools are scheduled to be out of session or if school is cancelled due to inclement weather.  

Note: Toddler Open Gym will not be held August 28 (due to gym floor refinishing) or September 4 (Labor Day).
Girls Basketball

Upcoming Youth Sports Registrations: Girls' Basketball & Fall Youth Volleyball

The Republic Parks & Recreation Department will begin taking individual and team registrations for K-6th Grade Girls’ Basketball on Monday, August 21st. The eight-game season begins the week of October 9th.  The league fee is $275.00 per team with a $25.00 discount for resident teams.  Game days are as follows:  K, 1st, & 2nd Grade – Saturdays; 3rd Grade – Fridays; 4th Grade – Thursdays; 5th Grade – Mondays or Tuesdays; 6th Grade – Mondays or Tuesdays. The deadline to register is Friday, September 15th.

The Republic Parks & Recreation Department will start taking individual and team registrations for the upcoming Fall Youth Volleyball league on Monday, August 28th. The league is open to all area individuals and teams in grades 3-6. The six-game season will begin the week of October 16th. The league fee is $225.00 per team with a $25.00 discount for resident teams.  Tentative game days are as follows:  3rd & 4th Grade - Mondays and/or Tuesdays; 5th & 6th Grade - Tuesdays and/or Thursdays. The deadline to register is Friday, September 22nd.

All games will be played at the Republic Community Center located at 711 E. Miller Road.

Republic Community Center Gymnasium & Indoor Walking Track Closed August 21-29


The Republic Community Center gymnasium and indoor walking track will be closed August 21-29 to refinish the gym floors. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Hiring Referees for Youth Soccer & Flag Football

The Republic Parks & Recreation Department is hiring referees for Fall Youth Soccer and Youth Flag Football. To apply, you may fill out an online application or pick up an application at the Republic Community Center at 711 E. Miller Rd.
