Youth Volleyball

Girls Basketball and Youth Volleyball Registrations

The Republic Parks & Recreation Department is taking individual and team registrations for K-6th Grade Girls’ Basketball through Friday, September 15. The eight-game season begins the week of October 9. The league fee is $275.00 per team with a $25.00 discount for resident teams. Game days are as follows: 
  • K, 1st, & 2nd Grade – Saturdays
  • 3rd Grade – Fridays
  • 4th Grade – Thursdays
  • 5th Grade – Mondays or Tuesdays
  • 6th Grade – Mondays or Tuesdays
All games will be played at the Republic Community Center located at 711 E. Miller Road.  

Registration for Fall Youth Volleyball is open through Friday, September 22.  Fall Youth Volleyball is open to teams and individuals in 3rd-6th grade. The six-game season will begin the week of October 16; all games will be played at the Republic Community Center.  Game days are as follows: 
  • 3rd & 4th grade – Monday/Tuesday
  • 5th & 6th grade – Tuesday/Thursday
Grades may be combined depending on the number of teams registered. The league fee is $225.00 per team ($25.00 discount for resident teams).

Adult Basketball Registration

Republic Parks & Recreation will begin accepting team registrations for the Fall Men’s Basketball League on Monday, September 18th through Friday, October 6th. The league is set to begin on October 18th; all games will be played on Wednesday evenings in the Republic Activities Building.  The league will consist of seven games with the top four teams making the tournament.  The fee is $250.00 per team with a maximum of nine teams.  Payment is due at the time of registration.  To register, pick up a team registration packet at the Republic Community Center located at 711 E. Miller Road.  


Zootopia Showing at The Amp September 23

Join us at The Amp on September 23 for a night of zoo-themed activities! The fun starts at 6:00 p.m. with The Balloon Lady and storytime with the Republic Branch Library followed by a live animal presentation by the Dickerson Park Zoo.  Zootopia will be on the big screen at 7:15 p.m. This is a FREE event. Concessions will be available to purchase.

The Amp, located within J.R. Martin Park (300 E. Hines in Republic), features permanent seating for 500+, lawn and mulch viewing areas, a 20’ x 65’ performance stage, a 15’ tall   on-stage truss system, a 16’ x 10’ movie screen, and much more.

Senior Dine & Dance Tickets Now Available for Purchase

The 5th Annual Senior Dine & Dance (formerly known as the Senior Citizen Prom) is scheduled for Friday, September 29th, 2017 from 5:00-8:00 p.m.  The event will be held in the Republic Activities Building (next to the Republic Community Center).  Attendees will enjoy dancing to live music by Dave Perryman and the Country Revue Band and a catered dinner. 

Tickets are $12.00 per person if purchased by September 23rd. Beginning September 24th, ticket prices will increase to $15.00 per person. Tickets can be purchased at the Republic Community Center, located at 711 E. Miller Road. Seniors are encouraged to bring a date of any age. This will be a great opportunity for a memorable night out with a spouse, child, grandchild, neighbor, or friend!

Homeschool Art

New Homeschool Programs

The Republic Parks & Recreation Department is excited to announce two NEW homeschool programs beginning in September! 

Homeschool Art will be held every Thursday at 10:00 a.m. This drop-in style class is open to homeschool students in grades 1-12 and is a structured arts and crafts time dedicated to helping teach kids art techniques. Attendees will learn the fundamentals and different approaches to art and the joy of creating. The drop-in fee is $5.00 per class with no registration necessary.

Homeschool Gym will be held every Tuesday from 9:30-11:30 a.m. with a drop-in fee of $3.00 per class. This program is also open to grades 1-12. Homeschool Gym classes will be based around a particular sport each month and includes one hour of structured class followed by one hour of free play.

No registration is required. Both programs will not be held on days Republic Schools are out of session or cancelled due to inclement weather. 

Hiring Referees for Fall Youth Sports

Republic Parks & Recreation is hiring referees for several fall youth sports including soccer, flag football, basketball, and volleyball. To apply, you may fill out an online application or pick up an application at the Republic Community Center at 711 E. Miller Rd.
