Youth Soccer

Co-Ed Youth Soccer Registration

The Republic Parks & Recreation Department is taking individual and team registrations for Youth Spring Soccer. This co-ed soccer league is open to children ages 3-12 (must be 3 years of age by March 20, 2018). Age divisions are as follows: 3-4, 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, and 11-12 years. The eight-game season will begin on Tuesday, March 20. The league fee is $175.00 per team for the 3-4 year-old division and $275.00 per team for the 5-12 year-old divisions. A $25.00 discount will be applied for resident teams. Games are played on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Garoutte Field located at 210 E. Hines in Republic. 

The deadline to register is Friday, February 23.  For more information, or to register an individual child, call (417) 732-3500 or stop by the Republic Community Center located at 711 E. Miller Road.  All of our youth sports programs rely heavily on volunteer coaches to make them successful.


School's Out Program

School's Out Program Registration Open for Spring Break

School’s Out Program is offered during Spring Break (following the Republic School District calendar). Activities and field trips are planned to ensure a fun-filled day for the children. A sack lunch and a snack are required each day. Payment is due at the time of registration and is nonrefundable. A minimum of 10 children must be registered 48 hours prior to each date in order to run the program. The program is available for ages 6 (or in kindergarten) through 12 and runs from 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. The cost is $20 per child, per day.

Field trips are scheduled as follows:

  • Monday, March 12: Incredible Pizza
  • Tuesday, March 13: Springfield Skateland
  • Wednesday, March 14: Edgewood Creamery
  • Thursday, March 15: Gold Medal Gymnastics
  • Friday, March 16: Fantastic Caverns

Note: Due to staffing requirements and pre-payment for field trip costs, School’s Out Program fees are non-refundable. Refunds or credits will not be given for children who sign up for the program and then withdraw.


Spring Adult Softball Registration Opens February 19

Republic Parks & Recreation will be offering a Co-ed Adult Softball League. Registration begins on Monday, February 19 and will be open through Friday, March 9. Games begin on March 22 and will be played on Thursdays. The team fee is $200.00 per team (six games). All games will be played at the Bervin White Memorial Baseball/Softball Complex located within Miller Park at 711 E. Miller Road. A maximum of 16 teams will be accepted for the league. Stop by the Republic Community Center to register your team!  


Pickleball Tournament

Pickleball Tournament Scheduled for February 21 

Calling all Pickleball players! We are hosting a Pickleball Tournament on Wednesday, February 21 starting at 9:00 a.m. This will be a doubles-style tournament with two matches guaranteed. Register as a team of two, or sign up as an individual and we'll find someone for you to play with! Pre-registration required and can be completed at the Republic Community Center or by calling 732-3500.

Upcoming Employment Opportunities

We are currently hiring for several summer positions! We are looking for dedicated, hardworking, energetic individuals to fill various temporary/seasonal positions within the Maintenance and Recreation Divisions. Maintenance Division positions include Utility Park Maintenance Worker, Weed-eaters, Mowers, and Athletic Ballfield Crew. Recreation Division positions include Gate Attendants, Concession Attendants, Summer Camp Staff, Summer Camp Directors, Officials/Umpires, Ballfield Supervisor, Lifeguards, and more! 

Job Fair for Recreation Division positions is scheduled for Saturday, March 24 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the Republic Community Center! Anyone interested in applying for a position within the Recreation Division is encouraged to attend. Supervisors will be on-site to answer questions and accept applications.

The summers are hot, make sure you have the coolest job in town!


Easter Egg Hunt

Save the Date for the Annual Easter Egg Hunt

The Republic Parks & Recreation Department has announced plans for the annual Easter Egg Hunt! The event will be held on Saturday, March 24 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at J.R. Martin Park (300 E. Hines) and feature 10,000 eggs, games, a bounce house, a visit from the Easter Bunny, prizes, and more! The official egg hunts will begin at 10:15 a.m. with the 0-6 year olds and 10:30 a.m. with the 7-12 year olds.  

This is a FREE event and no registration is necessary. Parking will be available at The Amp/Tennis Court Complex and Garoutte Field.  Please bring your own Easter basket and arrive early (the hunts will begin promptly at 10:15 and 10:30 a.m.).


New got Mud? Run Family Rush

Did you know that a family rush has been added to the got Mud? Run for 2018? This exciting new addition will allow families with children ages 7+ to participate together. Each family entry must include at least one adult (age 16+ on race day) and one youth (ages 7-15 on race day). 

The 4th Annual got Mud? Run will be held on August 25. Be sure to register early to take advantage of tiered pricing! Registration fees are only $25 per participant through May 31. Event and registration information can be found at www.republicmudrun.com.
