Easter Egg Hunt

Annual Easter Egg Hunt Tomorrow

The Republic Parks & Recreation Department has announced plans for the annual Easter Egg Hunt! The event will be held on Saturday, March 24 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at J.R. Martin Park (300 E. Hines) and feature 10,000 eggs, games, a bounce house, a visit from the Easter Bunny, prizes, and more! The official egg hunts will begin at 10:15 a.m. with the 0-6 year olds and 10:30 a.m. with the 7-12 year olds.  

This is a FREE event and no registration is necessary. Parking will be available at The Amp/Tennis Court Complex and Garoutte Field.  Please bring your own Easter basket and arrive early (the hunts will begin promptly at 10:15 and 10:30 a.m.).

Job Fair for Summer Positions to be held Saturday

We are currently hiring for several summer positions! We are looking for dedicated, hardworking, energetic individuals to fill various temporary/seasonal positions within the Maintenance and Recreation Divisions. Maintenance Division positions include Utility Park Maintenance Worker and Weed-eaters. Recreation Division positions include Gate Attendants, Concession Attendants, Summer Camp Staff, Summer Camp Directors, Officials/Umpires, Ballfield Supervisor, Lifeguards, and more! 

A Job Fair is scheduled for Saturday, March 24 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the Republic Community Center! Anyone interested in applying for a position within the Recreation Division is encouraged to attend. Supervisors will be on-site to answer questions and accept applications.

The summers are hot, make sure you have the coolest job in town!


Registration for Youth Baseball, Softball & Tot-Ball Now Open

Republic Parks & Recreation is currently accepting registrations for Youth Baseball, Softball, and Tot-Ball. Leagues are available for the following age groups: 

  • 3 & 4 year olds (Co-ed Tot-Ball, must be 3 by May 14)
  • 5 & 6 year olds (T-Ball or 6U Coach Pitch, Age as of January 1)
  • 7 & 8 year olds (Coach Pitch, age as of January 1)
  • 9 & 10 year olds (Player Pitch, age as of January 1)
  • 11 & 12 year olds (Player Pitch, age as of January 1)
  • 13 & 14 year olds (Softball only, Player Pitch, age as of January 1)

The team fee for Youth Baseball & Softball is $300.00 per team with a $25.00 discount for resident teams (includes nine games). The team fee for Tot-Ball is $140.00 per team with a $15.00 discount for resident teams (includes nine games). Games begin the week of May 14. All games will be played at the Bervin White Memorial Baseball/Softball Complex located at 711 E. Miller Road.

Summer Recreation Day Camp Early Bird Registration Available

“Early Bird” registration for Republic Parks & Recreation's Summer Recreation Day Camp is now open. Summer Recreation Day Camp is offered during the summer months for children ages 6 (or have completed kindergarten) – 12. Campers are given the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of activities during the summer including many exciting field trips, gym games, various clubs, crafts, frequent visits to the Republic Aquatic Center, and more. Past field trips have included Incredible Pizza, Titanic Museum, Andy B’s, Castle Rock Waterpark, Discovery Center, Wild Animal Safari, Springfield Skateland, Fantastic Caverns, Village Pottery, Sunshine Lanes, and many more locations! 

The Summer Recreation Day Camp runs Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. (there will be no camp on Monday, May 28 or Wednesday, July 4).  The cost for the program is $90.00 per child, per week ($10.00 discount for additional children in the family). If your child will be attending Summer School, the fee is $45.00 per child, per week ($5.00 discount for additional children in the family) during the four weeks of Summer School only. There are no discounted fees available for part-time. All field trips and activities are included in the weekly rates. Campers are required to bring a lunch and a snack to camp with them each day.

The first 120 people registered for the Summer Recreation Day Camp program are considered “Early Birds” and will receive priority when registering for each week of camp. “Early Birds” may choose to pay for the entire summer up front and receive a $5.00 discount per child, per week (all 12 weeks of camp MUST be paid for up front to receive the discount). “Early Birds” may also choose to pay for all weeks needed in advance, or follow the Payment Schedule if paying week by week. The Payment Schedule will be given out at the time of registration explaining the process in greater detail. At least one week of camp must be paid for at the time of registration. Enrollment forms are available at the Republic Community Center or online at www.republicmo.com.

Opening Night for the 5th Season at The Amp Scheduled for April 20

We are going "BIG" for Opening Night on Friday, April 20!  Join us for "Big Rig" Night starting at 6:30 p.m. featuring big trucks and equipment for the kiddos to check out! In addition, we'll have face painting, balloon art, a Coco-themed photo wall, games, and more! Coco will begin at approximately 8:15 p.m.

The Amp, located within J.R. Martin Park (300 E. Hines in Republic), features permanent seating for 500+, lawn and mulch viewing areas, a 20’ x 65’ performance stage, a 15’ tall on-stage truss system, a 16’ x 10’ movie screen, and much more.
