Youth Flag Football is open to 1st–4th grade (current grade) and the six-game season will begin September 10. This league is designed to educate participants about football while emphasizing participation and sportsmanship. Players learn skills and lessons that will help them succeed both on and off the field. All games are played on Mondays at the Bervin White Memorial Baseball/Softball Complex. The fee is $200.00 per team with resident teams receiving a $25.00 discount.

Annual Youth Tigger Tri & Tiger Tri

Mark your calendar now to join the Republic Parks & Recreation Department and the Ozarks Multisport Club for the 8th Annual Republic Youth Tigger Tri to be held on Friday, August 10. The Tigger Tri utilizes all of the event set up for the adult Republic Tiger Tri held the following morning and gives kids the same opportunity of participating in a first-class triathlon event.

The race is available for all children ages 5-13 and begins at 6:45 p.m. A Beginner’s Course is mandatory for children ages 5-6 and optional for ages 7-10. A Challenge Course is optional for ages 7-10 and mandatory for ages 11-13. The fee for the race is $25 on or before June 30 and increases to $30 on July 1. Registrations include a technical participant shirt just like the adults receive in the Republic Tiger Tri. Registration for the 2018 Republic Youth Tigger Tri may be completed at the Republic Community Center and is limited to the first 100 participants.

Republic Parks & Recreation Department, in a cooperative effort with the Ozarks Multisport Club, will host the 12th Annual Republic Tiger Tri on August 11 beginning at 7:00 a.m. at Miller Park located at 711 E. Miller Rd. Title Sponsor for the 2018 event will be Larson Law Firm. This sprint style triathlon is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in competing in a triathlon for the first time, but challenging enough for even the most experienced triathletes. The triathlon features a 300 yard swim which is conducted in four to five feet of water at the Republic Aquatic Center, a 12.2 mile bike ride over rolling Ozark hills and a relatively flat 3.1 mile run course through residential portions of the city. A Super Sprint course is also available. Each portion of the Super Sprint (swim, bike, and run) will be half the normal distance. Racers can also compete in the “Double”, racing both the Sprint and the Super Sprint beginning with the Super Sprint.

Registration for the 2018 Tiger Tri may be completed online at www.republictri.com by 11:59 p.m. on August 9 or in person at the Republic Community Center by 7:00 p.m. on August 10. For more information, be sure to visit www.republictri.com.
