Upcoming Events at The Amp in July


It's Christmas in July! Come visit Santa and enjoy Christmas themed games and activities, face painting, and more on Saturday, July 13. The Grinch (2018) will be shown on the big screen starting at 8:45 p.m. Be sure to mark your calendar and bring your family to this fun, FREE event! 

In addition to our movie events, we have also added evenings with paint-a-longs, yoga, and concerts. The schedule of these events is below and additional information can be found at www.theamprepublic.com.

The Amp, located within J.R. Martin Park (300 E. Hines in Republic), features permanent seating for 500+, lawn and mulch viewing areas, a 20’ x 65’ performance stage, a 15’ tall on-stage truss system, a 16’ x 10’ movie screen, and much more.

NEW! Drive-in Movie for Kids at the Republic Community Center July 26


Cruise in to the Republic Community Center on Friday, July 26! This NEW event is designed for youth ages 10 & under, who are encouraged to create their own vehicles to “drive” to the movie using cardboard boxes and other craft supplies. Popcorn and snacks will be available to purchase, and The Secret Life of Pets will be shown on the big screen at 7:00 p.m.**

got Mud? Run Registration Fees Increase on August 1


The 5th Annual got Mud? Run will be held on Saturday, August 24. Ages 4-6 will begin at 8:15 a.m. and will have 15 obstacles to complete on a one mile course. Ages 7-10 can choose the 9:00 or 10:00 a.m. rush. There will be 18 obstacles on a 1.5 mile course. Ages 11-15 begin at 11:00 a.m. and will complete 22 obstacles on a 2 mile course. The family rush will begin at 12:00 p.m. This rush is open to youth ages 7-15 who MUST be accompanied by at least one family member or guardian who is age 16+.

Each rush will be capped at 250 participants. The registration fee is $30 through July 31 and will increase on August 1 to $35. Be sure to register early! Registration can be completed online at www.republicmudrun.com (processing fees apply) or at the Republic Community Center. Youth Tigger Tri & Adult Tiger Tri Registration


Mark your calendar now to join the Republic Parks & Recreation Department and the Ozarks Multisport Club for the 9th Annual Republic Youth Tigger Tri to be held on Friday, August 9. The Tigger Tri utilizes all of the event set up for the adult Republic Tiger Tri held the following morning and gives kids the same opportunity of participating in a first-class triathlon event.

The race is available for all children ages 5-13 and begins at 6:45 p.m. A Beginner’s Course is mandatory for children ages 5-6 and optional for ages 7-10. A Challenge Course is optional for ages 7-10 and mandatory for ages 11-13. The fee for the race is $25 on or before June 30 and increases to $30 on July 1. Registrations include a technical participant shirt just like the adults receive in the Republic Tiger Tri.

Registration for the 2019 Republic Youth Tigger Tri may be completed online at www.republictri.com by 11:59 p.m. on August 8 or in person at the Republic Community Center. Registration is limited to the first 100 participants.

The Republic Parks & Recreation Department, in a cooperative effort with the Ozarks Multisport Club, will host the 13th Annual Republic Tiger Tri on Saturday, August 10 beginning at 7:00 a.m. at Miller Park located at 711 E. Miller Rd. Title Sponsor for the 2019 event will be Larson Law Firm.

Registration for the 2019 Tiger Tri may be completed online at www.republictri.com by 11:59 p.m. on August 8 or in person at the Republic Community Center by 7:00 p.m. on August 9.

Upcoming Camps & Clinics


Republic Parks & Recreation is offering several new camps and clinics this summer. Find more information about each one below.

Challenger Soccer Camp: July 8-11; 8:30-10:30 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at Garoutte Field; $96
This camp for ages 9-14 features Challenger’s 1,000 touches curriculum and focuses on individual foot skills, fakes, moves and turns, freestyle soccer, dribbling, passing, receiving, shooting, heading, tackling, defending, and the Camp World Cup!
 
All Sports Camp: July 15-18; 1:00-3:00 p.m. at Miller Park; $35
This camp is for every child. The purpose? To get children outdoors, active, and having fun over the summer. Children ages 6-12 are invited to join us for this camp featuring kick ball, dodgeball, wiffle ball, relay races, tag games, and on the final day water games!
 
Tennis Camp: July 22-25; 5:30-7:00 p.m. at JR Martin Park Tennis Courts; $45
This camp for ages 6-14 will teach basic and intermediate skills including forehand, back hand, volley and serve. Fun drills, games, and match play will be incorporated into lessons so your child will be learning and having a good time! Even better, this camp is hosted by Dan Vales, David Smashey, and the Republic High School Tennis teams!
 
Volleyball Camp: July 29-31; 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Republic Community Center; $45
This camp for ages 6-13 hosted by Premier Volleyball will teach technique and include fun games and activities.


Registration for all summer camps and clinics with the exception of the Challenger Soccer Camp can be completed at the Republic Community Center. Registration for the Challenger Soccer Camp can be completed online.

Try Archery Program


Join us for our all new Try Archery program. Learn range safety and the steps of shooting in this 50 minute introductory class for beginners who what to give archery a shot. Classes are offered at the Archery Range at Brookline Park on July 27th and August 31st with class times starting at 9:00, 10:00, and 11:00 am. This program is open to participants 7 years and older. $15 per archer. Pre-registration is required. Class size limited to 12 participants per session. All equipment provided. No personal equipment allowed.

Toddler Programming


Calling all parents of toddlers! Be sure to mark your calendar for these programs throughout the summer:

Toddler Open Gym
During the summer months, Toddler Open Gym will be offered on Monday evenings from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Age appropriate toys and activities will be available for your child in addition to our inflatable tiger bounce house! This is a great opportunity for your child to run off extra energy and interact with other children in the community. Each session is $2.00 per toddler.

Toddler Tumbling
Toddler Tumbling is a basic tumbling class open to toddlers (ages 2-5). Tumbling, movement, balance and flexibility will be covered in each session. Music and props will be incorporated into the class. One parent will be required to participate in the class with their toddler. The next session of Toddler Tumbling will be held on Thursday evenings July 11 - August 1. The registration fee for this class is $20 per four week session.

Munchkin Movie Day
The monthly Munchkin Movie Day will be held this Friday, July 5 at 10:30 a.m. We’ll be showing the movie Wonder Park. The Munchkin Movie is held the first Friday of each month and is FREE for families to attend. FREE popcorn and movie related activities will also be available.

Summer Homeschool Gym Classes


During the summer months, Homeschool Gym will be held every Monday afternoon from 1:30 until 3:30 p.m. with a drop-in fee of $3.00 per class. This program is also open to grades 1-12. Homeschool Gym classes will consist of group games such as kickball, volleyball, basketball, various tag games, etc.

Senior Programming


There are several programming opportunities available for seniors at the Republic Community Center. Programs include Senior Game Days, the Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program, Senior Wii Bowling and the monthly Senior Movie. More information on each program can be found on our website

NEW! Fall Youth Baseball & Softball Leagues


We are offering a NEW fall baseball and softball league this year for 8U, 10U and 12U. Registration will run through July 17. The league starts the week of August 12. Team fees are $175 for resident teams and $200 for non-resident teams.
