What are the qualifications for Council?
A Council-member shall be a citizen of the United States and a resident of the City for 1 year at the time of filing for office. The candidate must also reside in the designated ward at the time of filing for office. The Council-member must be a registered voter and must remain a resident of the designated Ward during the time of service as an elected official of the City. In addition, a person running for Council shall not be in arrears for any unpaid City fees or taxes.
